Biomass Energy Potential from Agricultural Residues in Eritrea

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study aimed to estimate the amount of biomass energy that can be acquired from crop residues in Eritrea, a country horn Africa with population 6 million and having national income per capita is around 150 US dollars. It’s an agricultural country. The potential was calculated by considering calorific values available residue. For year 2015, total value estimated approximately 1332.34TJ. According residues, most contributing crops were sorghum (50%) millet (27%). Thus, it inferred knowing particular general could help managing sources planning projects.

Energy Potential of Biomass from Conservation Grasslands in Minnesota, USA

Perennial biomass from grasslands managed for conservation of soil and biodiversity can be harvested for bioenergy. Until now, the quantity and quality of harvestable biomass from conservation grasslands in Minnesota, USA, was not known, and the factors that affect bioenergy potential from these systems have not been identified. We measured biomass yield, theoretical ethanol conversion efficien...

Energy through Agricultural Residues in Rural India: Potential, Status and Problems

Energy from non-conventional resources like biomass would be crucial in meeting the growth targets in the power sector. Biomass is the most commonly used domestic fuel and for independent power plants. Based on up-to-date combustion technologies, biomass and waste supply approximately 4.5 EJ (105 Mtoe) of direct heat to the industrial and residential sectors, and 2 to 3 EJ (47 to 70 Mtoe) of he...

adsorption of heavy metals by salvinia biomass and agricultural residues

batch adsorption experiments were performed to study adsorption potential of agricultural residues viz. rice straw, wheat straw and salvinia plant biomass for removal of heavy metals such as cr, ni, and cd. plant materials were used in different combinations. heavy metal removal efficiency was more at low metal concentration (35 mg/l). salvinia biomass possessed higher efficiency for removing h...

Location optimization of agricultural residues-based biomass plant using Z-number DEA

Co-firing biomass plants are of extensive demand due to utilization of both agricultural residues (main) and natural gas (stand-by). Researchers have shown that one strategic decision in establishment of agricultural residues based plants, is location optimization problem. Moreover, mismatch between agricultural lands and biomass plants can lead to high transportation costs and related carbon d...
